A Little Earlier…
I wrote awhile back about my routines. You can go back and read it if you want (or don’t), but in it I talk about how I try to have a routine and it gets adjusted and so-forth.
My latest routine is waking up early. Like, REALLY early.
I need to for work. And that being said, I’m very happy with my new wake-up time.
I’m not saying this to brag or gloat (again, it’s for work), but my day now starts at 4:00 AM.
As a self-proclaimed night owl, I must say that I’m a bit shocked myself that I can pull-off getting out of bed this early. I’ve been at it now for several weeks and so far all is well. My coffee maker contributes to my success.
I’m amazed how much more work I can get done in a day I have a list of things I try to accomplish daily here at Fakes Studios. Before I got up this early, much of the list was not done. Now, I’m actually getting quite a bit of it knocked-out on a daily basis. I’m pretty happy about that.
The downside to it all is I’m in bed by around 9 PM (if I can help it).
That’s not always easy when there is a good show on television or especially when the weekends arrive. Regarding weekends, I know that will change sometimes. There’s NO WAY to avoid going to be at around 9 PM when there are the majority of my family and friends living around the area. And I’m not one to just sit at home (although, these days, I find it most appealing). I’m sure, occasionally, sleeping-in will ensue.
I was always a bit anti-nap. For some reason, I’ve always associated naps with a waste of time (as someone who isn’t a fan of rules and authority, I think that stems from preschool when they were mandatory and enforced). Now though, a good cat nap really helps with this new schedule.
So, we’ll see how long this will last. Again, I adjust things as I trot along here in this ol’ life. For now though, with a 10-month old here at home, TONS of work I’m trying to accomplish with cartooning and a few other factors (donuts are made freshly very early in the morning) – I’m enjoying this. We’ll see if I say that in the not too distant future when it’s subzero degrees outside on a snowy Ohio morning and I’m all nice and toasty in my bed.
Now excuse me. I need to go doze off for awhile….
